Police remain at park after man’s death

Police are still at a town centre park after the death of a 56-year-old man.

Officers were called to concerns for the welfare of a man in Northlands Park, Basildon, just before 09:35 BST on Tuesday.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and Essex Police said specialist officers were supporting his family.

According to a report monitored by Inkline Times on bbc.co.uk on Tuesday night, the death was not being treated as suspicious.
