The 10th year anniversary celebration of the foremost grassroots Foundation in Nigeria is set for the centre of excellence, Lagos Nigeria.
In a clarion called released yesterday by the Chairman of this year’s event tagged “Eko for Show”, Yemi Animashaun, members were enjoined to get prepared for the greatest hosting in the history of the Foundation.
Animashaun popularly known as “Apache” by His lovers charged members to hasten their support towards the event saying, “ Lagos is ready to support the needy and host mother of all events”.
On voluntary donations, the chairman appealed to members to fulfill their voluntary obligations towards the charity programme of the organization, describing it as the hallmark for coming together.
Reflecting on the journey towards the preparations, Apache commended the previous chairmen and their committees for a job well done, describing the task as onerous but attainable.
According to him, “ I never knew this event is this big. But as we are getting closer, I started realizing how big the shoes are such that I couldn’t believe it”.
“Now that we know that this Foundation is no more at infant stage, those of us at the central planning committee level have taken the bull by the horns and Lagos is ready!!!”. He submitted.
Earlier, the Founder and Director of PEGA and Friends Foundation, Gbenga Ekunola expressed his appreciation to the members for their charitable support in the last ten years and for keeping the flag flying.
In his words, “Charity is the back bone of this Association and we must rally round to make this year a mega event by taking care of the needy in our society”.
He charged the organizing committee to brace up as time is no longer at hands for this year’s event, assuring them of support where needed to make the event a success.
The Foundation comprises of people from all walks of life including top government functionaries, political leaders, royal fathers, security personnel, businessmen and women and other well meaning Nigerians.
It is worthy of note that the 8th edition of the event was held in Ilaro dubbed “Oronna 2022” last year with the body donating items and equipments to various locations including The Correctional Services, Ilaro, Health Centre’s Leslie and Ilaro, payment of hospital bills god individuals in respect of medical operations among others.
In the same vein, the Foundation’s trained moved to Osogbo in Osun State to extend her hands of fellowship to the less privileged through donation of items and support to various locations and individuals.
As members look forward to promoting charity amidst socio-cultural relationships, expectations are high for the grand finale in Lagos this December.
