Nigerians across the western nations especially those that transited under the popular “Japa” syndrome are battling with survival as winter returns with heavy snowfalls.
An immigrant, Uche described how he returned back home from work on Tuesday evening with a clement weather but woke up to a very cloudy one with heavy snowfalls the following morning in Quebec, Canada.
According to him, “I had the privileged information about bad weather but was just thinking it won’t disturb my movement per Se. Unfortunately, our street was locked down with heavy snow everywhere.
Meanwhile, Nigerians in London and Scotland also welcomed the new winter season on Wednesday. Residents who had the knowledge of the temperature had prepare ahead for a “bad” weather all day long as announced by the meteorologists in the UK.
However, the situation was not different with Naija freshets in the UK as some of them were seen battling for survival under the weather which they described as “very unfriendly “ to their body system.
In a chat with Toluwa from Scotland yesterday, he described how his car became frozen with ice and was unable to go out until late period lamenting his loss for the day.
Narrating his own story, Muyiwa of Kent expressed his feelings about the new weather, describing it as very nice. “I like the weather. It is nice and cool. Though, I’m missing home but I prefer it here”. He concluded.
Meanwhile, the winter season which started on Tuesday is expected to last till February and may extend slightly till March or April next year.
Many Nigerians are currently being initiated into the new era of weather in contrast to the usual Wet and dry season back home.
