PUMA offered a witty social media response to Marc Cucurella’s slips for Chelsea during their win against Tottenham.
The left-back suffered two identical blunders inside the opening 11 minutes to help gift Spurs a 2-0 lead last Sunday.
Cucurella ran towards the Chelsea bench and changed his boots just moments after Dejan Kulusevski netted the second.
After the match, he poked fun at his first-half errors when he posted an image of his PUMA boots in the changing room bin.
The sports clothing giants may have been embarrassed to see them disposed of like that, but they’ve seen the funny side of things.
PUMA posted an image on social media with Cucurella standing next to a ‘Caution wet floor’ sign – with a figure sporting the Spaniard’s signature bushy hair.
“It’s not how you slip, it’s how you bounce back,” their caption read, with Cucurella recovering swiftly after his slips.
He made amends by assisting Jadon Sancho’s goal that kick-started the Blues’ 4-3 comeback win against their London rivals.
Further goals from Enzo Fernandez and Cole Palmer ensured they won all three points and that Cucurella’s mistakes weren’t costly.
Victory in north London has only strengthened claims that Chelsea are in this season’s Premier League title race.
It took them second and four points behind leaders Liverpool, who are one of only two sides to beat them after 15 matches.
Head coach Enzo Maresca has consistently downplayed the prospect of Chelsea being in contention to win the title.
However, Saturday’s Premier League results have shaped a positive outlook for any Blues fans who believe they can go all the way.
Ten-man Liverpool were held to a 2-2 draw at home to Fulham whilst third-placed Arsenal drew 0-0 against Everton.
Chelsea can go two points behind Liverpool and four clear of Arsenal on Sunday if they beat Brentford at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
It would be their tenth league win of the season so far, with the Blues being one of the standout performers.
