NANS applauds stakeholders successful execution of the intercampus debate, security summit

The National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, Lagos Axis, has applauded parties involved for the success of the recently conducted security summit and intercampus debate organized at the Lagos State University of Science and Technology, LASUSTECH, Ikorodu, Lagos.

According to Comrade Lekan Idris Chairman NANS Lagos, the success of the two in one event was due to the joint efforts of all involved.

The event, which drew representatives from a range of tertiary institutions across Lagos, fostered a dynamic environment for engaging discussions and thought-provoking dialogue.

“We extend our deepest appreciation to the Lagos State Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Hon. Tolani Sule, whose steadfast support and leadership were key to the success of this programme. His dedication to advancing education in Lagos State continues to inspire and empower us all.

“We also offer special thanks to the Commissioner of Police, CP Fayoade Adegoke, for his commitment to enhancing campus security. His presence and the contributions from the Lagos State Police Command played a crucial role in shaping the outcomes of the summit.

“Our sincere gratitude goes to the Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe for his esteemed presence and valuable insights. His support is a testament to his unwavering commitment to the welfare of students in Lagos.

“We are particularly grateful to Hon. Kappo Samuel, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Student Union Affairs, for his continuous advocacy and support for student-related initiatives. His involvement was vital to the success of this event.

“We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Commanding Officer of the 174 Battalion, Ikorodu, represented by the 2IC, Major Ukwani. Their strategic perspectives on security matters provided a solid foundation for the summit’s discussions on safety within our campuses.

“Additionally, we would like to express our deep appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH), Prof. Olumuyiwa Odusanya, and the entire management team for their exceptional hospitality in hosting this event. Their support ensured a conducive environment for both the summit and the debate, significantly contributing to the event’s overall success.

“We also acknowledge and thank the esteemed judges for their critical role in the Intercampus Debate. Their fair and insightful evaluations ensured that the most deserving talents were recognized. We are grateful for their dedication and expertise in fostering excellence among our students, ” he said.
