‘I’m Quitting Music’, Terry G Announces Over Unsuccessful Career

Nigerian singer Oche Gabriel Amanyi, famously known as Terry G, has declared the end of his musical voyage.

In a heartfelt video shared on his Instagram page on Saturday, Terry G, with sincerity etched on his face, explained that the decision to part ways with music stemmed from the realization that his once-thriving career had lost its sheen.

Expressing gratitude to his steadfast fans who accompanied him on this musical odyssey, he acknowledged their unwavering support throughout the years.

Despite the forthcoming announcement causing an inevitable pang of disappointment among his admirers, Terry G affirmed that this choice was not made lightly, emphasizing that it was a necessary step for his own well-being.

In his own words, he shared, “A big thank you to my fans for staying through with me all these years. I really appreciate you all. It’s been amazing years back-to-back.

“Thank you all for the love. But I’m about to make a big announcement. I know it’s going to hurt a lot of people, but I’ve my personal reasons. I’m quitting music. I’m done. And I really appreciate you guys for showing me so much love.”

Embarking on his musical journey in the mid-2000s, Terry G swiftly became a noteworthy figure in the Nigerian music scene. His notable tracks contributed significantly to his rise in popularity.

One of his breakthrough hits was “Akpako Master,” released in 2008. This song played a pivotal role in establishing Terry G as a distinctive force within the Nigerian music landscape. Known for its energetic vibes, the track resonated with a broad audience.
