LAGOS – Nigerian cross dresser Idris Okuneye popularly known as Bobrisky has denied bribery allegations made by social media influencer VeryDarkMan, calling the claims unsubstantiated. In a post, Bobrisky dismissed the accusations, maintaining his innocence.
According to a viral audio recording circulated by VeryDarkMan, Bobrisky claims EFCC officials received N15 million to dismiss money laundering charges
The EFCC has launched an investigation in response to the allegations, EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, announced that Chairman Ola Olukoyede has ordered an immediate probe.
Meanwhile, Bobrisky took to Instagram to clear his name, denying that he bribed EFCC officials to drop money laundering charges. He claimed to have served his jail term, contradicting earlier reports.
The controversial social media sensation also described the viral voice recording as fake, stressing that the claim that he was never in prison was false and should be ignored.
He wrote, “My attention has been drawn to a fake voice recording circulating on the internet that I paid EFCC 15 million naira, and that I was never in prison… I didn’t pay any EFCC money, which is a very big lie. I served my term in full, and I came out. Discard any false information.”
